Managing User Roles

Written by Ali Zahoor

Overview

User roles allow you to control what each team member can see and do within your Mailmunch account. By assigning role-based permissions, you can ensure that team members only have access to the features and data relevant to their responsibilities — such as editing campaigns, managing contacts, or adjusting account settings.

Creating a User Role

Step 1: Navigate to User Roles

  1. From the left-hand navigation menu, click Site Settings (located at the bottom left).

  2. Select User Roles.

Step 2: Create a New Role

  1. Click Create Role to open the configuration panel.

  2. Optionally, select a Template to pre-populate permissions based on a common role type: Admin, Campaign Manager, Contact Manager, or Analyst.

  3. Enter a Role Name — use a clear, descriptive name (e.g., Marketing Assistant).

  4. Optionally, add a Description to explain the role's purpose for future reference.

Step 3: Configure Permissions

Expand each permission category and toggle the specific actions you want to allow for this role. Categories and their available permissions are detailed in the Permissions Reference section below.

Step 4: Save the Role

Click Create Role to save your configuration.

Assigning a Role to a Team Member

  1. Go to Site Settings and select Team Members.

  2. When inviting a new user or editing an existing one, select the appropriate role from the Role dropdown.

  3. Click Save to apply the changes.
